PREMIER DGRF DIGITAL GOLF RANGE FINDER Not the most accurate range finder..... hard to hold still trying to line up bottom of flag stick and top of flag stick on the scale. Also plus or minus 10 to 12 yards on each click of the scale. Not very impressed with the operation. Would not recommend.

while my game isn't quite good enough (yet) to need to know if the pin is 87 yards out vs. 85 1/2 yards (which this is apparently accurate enough to tell you), i do benefit from knowing that the green is in the general vicinity of 85 - which is fortunate, because if needed to know precisely I'd have to mount this thing on a tripod - the hand-held aspect of aiming at something a hundred or so yards away means that (at least in MY hands) you're going to be lucky to get the same reading twice. Which isn't to say that this is not a useful tool - like i said, i only need to know ABOUT how far i am to pick the right club --- and then i can use the 8x scope to see if i hit it up next to the hole!

I felt the product should be more clearly marked. For example stating that the item needs a special lithium battery, so that if the item was purchased as a gift as the one I purchased was, I could have also purchased the battery. This made for a very unpleasant Christmas for myself and the person I purchased the gift for. I can not rate this product until I purchase the battery.

This item was returned for credit. It simply does not work outside of about 100 yards. Beyond 100 yards or so, when the flag was in front of any other target (i.e. trees, etc.) it would only register the farther away target. When only the flag was visible, it would not register the distance at all.

I bought this for my husband's birthday, however he told me that this product will view something beyond the pin on the green, therefore giving an inaccurate yardage reading. He is a 4-handicapper, and was looking for some easy way to assist him on the yardage. If this had worked out, he would have passed on the information to his two older brothers that play golf as well and they are also under 6-handicap.

This little unit works well - I use it for getting distances from buildings to telephone poles for my job - The only problem I have had is finding a reflective service on the building I am trying to measure - I am usually about 300 yards or so away - I t does work but I have to take two to three "shots" at it before the rangefinder acquires the distance. I have been thinking about getting a red reflective board I can place next to the building when the distance if farther away - red seams to reflect better. For what it does, this is an inexpensive tool! Not only can i use this for work (does height in feet) but also for bow hunting (horizontal range). this rangefinder is more accurate than the specs. not to mention that it's very easy to use & the red dot works so much better than cross hairs and you can see it in dim light.

I have used the Medalist for five rounds now, and I'm very happy with the results. On the first outing I was having the same difficulty with stability that others have reported. I found it a bit inconvienient to have to rely on bracing against the cart, especially since there were cart-path-only restrictions in place. Being an advanced amature photographer, I've often used a mono-pod to support my cameras. I gave it a try with my Medalist and it proved to be the ideal solution. The pod with Medalist attached, slips easily into a club slot in my bag, but I need to be careful about slinging the bag around, or letting it drop. I attached the case, using a lanyard, to the mono-pod, and slip the case off and on the Medalist, just as I would a club cover. This offers some protection, but the case is not extremely padded, so I still need to take care. When needed, I pull the unit out like a club, flip the lever to extend the leg, and take my reading with perfect stability. Throw it back and the bag and grab the correct club. Works very well for me! I love that I can read distances to pins and bunkers on any course without ever having to purchase gps downloads. Plus I can read distances to fronts and backs of bunkers, trees, rocks or what have you. And it works whether I have a tree cover or cloud cover as well. All I need is a line of sight. The Pinseeker function seems to work nicely also. I am still taking a couple of readings at the pin, just to build confidence that I am actually reading the pin and not something else. All in all, I am very happy with my purchase.
